run run run run run run run run aaaand run.

run run run run run run run run aaaand run.

Thursday I went in for my post surgery check up and was told I couldn’t lift weights or do abdominal exercises for a month. A whole month!!! I’m dying here guys! I have been doing the November plank challenge though and I went to work yesterday and lifted some semi heavy trays of food just because I wanted to do something! I’m going to start running regularly again and hope that helps get me out of my “I can’t lift weights” blues. We shall see…

Tonight...
  • Just got home from running three miles for the first time in too long and my dad comes home right after me from work.
  • Dad: Oh, did you go running? How was it?
  • Me: Painful. I need to get back into my routine and stuff.
  • Dad: Then I guess I shouldn't show you these...
  • -- PULLS OUT A BAG OF M&MS NEXT TO HIS BEER --
  • Me: .... no.
  • Dad: You can just eat them some other time.
  • Me: -_-
  • EVERYTIME.
  • It's actually quite ridiculous at how often he pulls that shit on me.

Paleo Diet…

Those who have tried it what do y’all think of it? I know you have to work out intensely and often during but I already do that with P90X, running, working at a restaurant and a daycare. So having an active lifestyle to go with it is not an issue. Sooooo, yes or no guys?

Going for runs is what makes you a runner. How many marathons you’ve done or races you’ve been in does not define who is considered a runner, it’s simply going outside and going for a run that does.

Worst Run, Ever.

I seriously slacked on drinking my water today and yesterday. As a result of my bad fitness behaviors I had a breath taking cramp/pinch under my rib cage from start to finish. I could only do half a mile before I had to stop. I held my arms over my head, pinch and held on to it, walked, breathed super slow in my nose and out my mouth but nothing could shake it! I only did one and a half miles at a 13 minute mile pace! Never again.

Attention Fellow Runners…

One word: Blister.

Today on a run I acquired a really bad blister on the arch of my left foot. Thank goodness I get paid on Friday because it’s definitely time for some new shoooooes!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAY!!!

BUUUUUT, I WOULD LIKE Y’ALL TO HELP ME…

I need you guys to recommend some brands. I LOVE Adidas, Brooks, and Asics. But, I would like some other ideas, styles, types, etc. Help a fellow runner out and shoot me a message or something with ideas!

NINE MINUTE MILE! BAM BAM! EAT A PIECE OF HAM!
I followed it with a horrible 13:00 mile though…
Ultimate time goal is an 8:00 mile and 16:00 two-mile, like my cross country days. For my body type, size, and height that is an awesome time and I would like to get back to it sooooon!
Excuse me while I go celebrate my little accomplishment with a hot shower.

I AM A RUNNER.

I AM A RUNNER.

GOALS:

  • Finish the 5 mile Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Run in under an hour this year
  • Half marathon by mid 2013
  • Before my 22nd birthday in 2014, run a full marathon.
I used to run cross country, I should have never stopped running. It’s time to get back into high gear with it. Bring it on. I can do this.
